To export text

  1. Select the text you want to export To extract text from a DTP file so that it can be edited using a word-processor. The text is saved as a text file that can be opened in word-processing programs. or position the text insertion point A thin vertical flashing line that indicates where text editing will take place. in the piece of text you want to export.

  2. From the File menu A list of available commands and actions in Publisher. Menu names are displayed in the menu bar at the top of the Publisher window., select Export Text File. The Export Text dialog box A window used to supply information to Publisher. appears.

  3. In the File name text box, type the name you want to give the text.

  4. From the Save in drop-down list box, select the disk drive and folder Part of a structure for organizing your files on a disk. A folder can contain files and other folders called sub-folders. where you want to save the text file A document stored on a hard or floppy disk, or other media..

  5. From the Save as type drop-down list box, select a format for your text file.

  6. Click on Save.

Note:

If you type a filename that already exists, a message will appear asking if you want to overwrite the existing file. Click on Yes or No as appropriate.
